I do not think that it is the case.
Lack of knowledge about position is not only disadvantage against humans but
also against computers because if the program knows how to play some type of
position that other programs do not know then it can use the knowledge to beat
them in games.

teaching a program to play better the type of the position that was played
against kasparov is one of the ways to make it better against computers and not
only against humans.
