Bob: You are right IN GENERAL, but in this position I think you are wrong. The reason: black was already a piece or two down due to the hopeless cramped position he had, so after changes instead of losing a pece he recovered some mobility and so some real active pieces. Anyway a point I want to do here is this: a program should know which dangerous and perhaps losing path to follow in order to get at least some fighting chances. If you are going to lose, then let it to be with some pyrotechnics. Chess is fight, right? Without it is nothing but a boring kind of crosssed words or a math problem. A program should always take into account the other side is human and can commit mstakes. It is neccesary to give them the chances to commit them. That is the reason I like so much CSTAL. What matter if other engines are harder to beat? I would prefer a Fritz falling in flames after a battle that this Fritz moving pieces as a dumb. Of course this is not truth fo those poeple that gets engines to play them againts other engines. Lunacy, in my opinion, except for programmers and pros testing some moves. I do play Crafty and I did play that trade. Sometimes I have lost, sometimes I have got the point, but in every time I had fun as mad. My best Fernando
