Who would >teach the SSDF guys how to deal with unix? how to operate the program? That's >not workable. It's a decision of the will. If they want it they can make it happen. But the words of Hsu about the "10-0" case were: [ begin quote ] I asked him if it were possible to get scores of these games. He said he did not want to release them, as he did not want to give out any help to future competitors. [ end quote ] It's clear they don't want to play or? So I simply agree with Amir. Nothing personal to Deep Blue, Hsu or you. IMO t's just clear to me they don't want to play. Add up all the challenges they have received and declined. >My remarks are personal... suggesting that there might be reasons for >*their* personal remarks toward deep blue. Something is certainly going on >that is not just based on technical merit/discussion. See above. Some of us can discuss Deep Blue loving the thing and still have some criticism. >Feel free to ask me to leave if you think this would be a better place >without me. I wouldn't ask Amir to leave, although I would certainly ask >him to leave the anti-deep-blue crap out unless it is *factual*. IE find a >bad move it played and lets discuss it. Or find a game it lost and lets >discuss it. But not the silly stuff in that article... >But if I have "gone over the edge" in your (and others) opinion, I'll >gracefully retire back to r.g.c.c and leave it peaceful here. If somewhat >filled with inaccurate and insulting remarks that will then go unanswered... You missed my point. Nobody is asked to leave. I said that the charter of CCC isn't working. That's my opinion after one year CCC. That does not mean I don't like CCC anymore. I have seen the former moderators wrestling with several cases. Days, weeks of work. I see the same happening with the current moderators. I just read Bruce saying: "There is a difference between complaining about some business policy and calling someone some nasty name because of their business policy. It's not clear exactly where to draw the line, although it's easy to say that there should be a line." I agree with Bruce. But the problem is we all have a different opinion about this "line". What is allowed and what is not? As a result people don't know where they stand and moderators having a full time job on every new case that shows up. - Ed -
