It is not the European participants that anyone has a problem with. It seems that for quite a few years now, the ICGA has not been cooperative with the idea of holding their event outside of Europe, as your example below supports. The problem is they claim it is the world championship, which is something that many would like to be a part of and have a say about who is the world champion. They said they were going to make it easier for everyone to participate by moving the event around, but they went back on their word. To add to their reputation, they don't just come out and say they changed their minds and that they are going to hold it in Europe every year. They try and weasel their way out of their lie by making extraordinary demands on potential non-European hosts. That is the picture I've seen anyway. >I know that the ICCA negotiated to hold the event outside Europe in 2004, in >Israel. The money and venue where there, but negotiations folded, as I heard it, >due to an unreasonable demand by the ICCA. Would that be the "you pay us $100,000 and we will allow you to hold our event" demand?
