You are making this into a personal war. It is not. It is just a simple
contractural problem that the ICCA / ICGA has blatantly chosen to disregard.
I was a charter member of the ICCA, formed in 1977 in Toronto. The charter
_specifically_ mentioned the WCCC event to be held every three years,
alternating between Europe and North America. The ICCA broke that contractural
agreement years ago and have been doing so ever since.

If they would drop the "you pay our way over there" fee stuff, sponsors are
available. IBM has been great for computer chess. Intel also. Probably AMD
could become interested. Remember who sponsored the fritz vs kasparov match
and where it was held. So interest _is_ here. But the ICGA actively organizes
things in Europe, but says "someone else has to do it if it is going to be done
in the US."

I've reached the point where I don't care. I won't be renewing my membership,
and I'll continue to play in ICC events as they come up, or any other event that
looks reasonable. But I'm not taking two weeks off from classes to go to
Europe, to play in a chess event.

The internet is _too_ handy...
