We had a computer chess event here every year from 1970 to 1994. Overall, interest around the world in computer chess is nowhere near the level it was prior to the famous 1996/1997 DB matches, which is unfortunate. But flying around the world is old news. The internet is today. I can survive with CCT-type events...
