I am convinced it would be possible to make the CCTs much more important with
only minor changes. It's interesting that the first ones with little rules had
several professionals taking part, and the last one that tried to adress some of
their concerns expressed earlier had none of them.

There are different directions to go: the CCTs can be a social event with an
amateur tournament involved or it might be possible to let them be an additional
major computerchess tournament or maybe even become sth of similar importance as
WCCC. There is nothing wrong with the first solution of course, but the second
one has a certain charme too.

I wonder if anyone ever tried to find out what would be needed to increase the
number of professionals taking part by simply asking each team? Did anyone ever
contact ICGA to see if they might be interested to get involved with them? Now
that we even have an "ICGA worldchampion for play in virtual reality" no one can
deny that they might be interested :).
