Hi Earl, for what reason should IBM do that ? They can only lose ! When it loses against Shredder (which is quite sure in my opinion, but PLEASE don't start a discussion about that... PLEASE ... :) it would lose reputation - it would lose even when it does not win in a convincing way. And against Kasparov ? Again, they can only lose because everyone would expect a win. So I would fire that marketing person which came up with such an idea... :) So far Deep Blue is kind a mythos - and IBM is definitely very interested to keep it there. Who won't... Greets, Thomas
