Could you clarify what "it" is?

The 80 points was, at least in the past, a generally accepted number for
doubling the processor speed (has this changed, or am I wrong).  As for my ply
numbers, I freely confess I just pulled them out of the air.  If my guess was
too high, then I would pick 10ply and 9ply.

But the underlying argument that going from 5 to 6 is greater than 9 to 10 is
what I am supporting.  Another response to this post suggests this "80 points"
number may apply only to computer-computer matches.  Which makes sense, since
it's been a long time since SSDF has been touch by human ratings.
