I think it's fair play responding to the smack talk of Amir and demonstrating that Amir is not willing to put his money where his mouth is. That's all. :) MH >100:1 / knight piece up / atleast 2x speedup and yet only neck to neck ?! >(refered to in other post) - looking for other advantages to take care of >program deficiencies ?! I'm sure crafty can handle better than this ! I seems clear that Bob is admitting that on equal hardware, his program will not win a match. But he's also saying that a computer chess project can choose which part of the technology soloution to place it's advantages in. Crafty has a built-in hardware scalability advantage which he has spent a lot of time, effort and research to develop. In fact he has lead the way in that type of research. So in an open-hardware competition, he is able to equalize using the strengths of his project. Consumer market projects like Amir's are free to talk smack regarding their particular technology emphasis, and Bob is free to "smack" them back with the technology emphasis of his project. Hopefully, all is mostly in good fun. :) MH > >AND , no comments on this US vs Europe/ICGA discussions :) > > >Mridul > ><snip> >>
