Maybe Gian-Carlo had to write some code to make it a native ChessPartner engine instead of only a WB/UCI engine, but that is not much work for someone who spent years writing an entire chess engine. Not many engines have an "interface of its own." All of the Chessbase engines work in Fritz's interface, all of the Lokasoft engines work in ChessPartner, and so on. All it takes for a strong WB/UCI engine is to get picked up by someone with an interface.
