Why do you discount Ferret, first?  It has _clearly_ proven it can compete
with _anybody_, commercial or amateur, without needing a hardware edge.  See
every WMCCC event it has played in.  What about Wchess?  What about MchessPro?
Zarkov.  And only a fool discounts Crafty.  In a short Swiss _anything_ can
happen.

Your question is fine. But it has _nothing_ to do with the discussion about
the WCCC event and lack of North American participation.

I think you will find it very difficult to win a single game with "software
alone" which I think was everybody's point here...
