Another solution that works:  dynamically adjust the "contempt factor" so that
right out of book, draw = -.6 or some such...  I ran into this many times on ICC
where I would watch crafty play a nice gambit line, then quickly go for the
draw rather than playing on to reap the benefits of the gambit.  For the first
part of the game, I drop the contempt quite dramatically, then in the late
middlegame not so much, until when I reach the endgame it is back to the default
as I don't want to accept serious weaknesses when it might well lose the game.

At least, doing this, I can play the king's gambit without worrying about a
20 move draw (of course, if the score drops below -1.00, I'm in trouble again
as I don't let the draw score drop below that (it varies from -1.00 to 0.00 as
the game "ages")...
