Drexel,Michael martin fierz Omid David Tabibi I think that normal club players are weak in tactics. My rating is 1997 and experience in tournament proved that I have chances even against masters(I have one draw against a Fide master with stable rating above 2300 and some draws including one win against players above 2200). My experience is that there were cases when I outsearched players with rating of above 2100 more than once and I am not close to be perfect in tactics. The last example was a case when above 2100 player did not see the following line: Nc6:d4 c3:d4 Qd7-a4 when the queen threat d4 and a2 and he could not save one of them so I do not think that I am weak in tactics relative to rating of 2000 but I lost my last game because of a tactical mistake [D]7r/2p2k2/1p1p1bpr/p2Pp3/P1P1PpR1/1P3P2/1B3R1P/7K w - - 0 36 I played Rgg2 and not Kg1. After Rh3 I saw what is going to happen but it was too late and I could not save the pawn at h2 and the game. I think that eliminating tactical mistakes from my games(mistakes when computers see the problem in at most few seconds) can give me at least 100 elo and I include only tactical mistakes in the root position. My guess is that without tactical mistakes in my calculation that lead to positional errors it can be clearly more than it. Uri
