After reading the preparatory books you will have a good idea what games you want to study. Games to study and analyze must include your own games. Especially your losses. The additional games will probably be post 1935 and some early proponents of modern chess. Additional study should be centered on partickulars. Opening, tactics and basic endgames. Books on general subjects like 'Strategy' and 'Planning' should be viewed with a critical eye. Your opponent probably won't just lie down and die. So tacktics will lurk at all phases of the game.
