Hi Bryan One gets fed up with all this PC stuff. Give me a dedicated chess computer >anyday. well i agree with you 1000%! Sadly the Dediciated chess computers offered by todays Manufacuter's are mere shells of the computers of yesteryear once the PC monster over came the Dedicated unit in terms of ELO most makers of fine dedicated units either went out of business or merged today, regrefully, hardly any dedicated units are made in fine wooden boards with nice pieces the only avialable wooden chess computer that can still be purchased brand new is the Mephisto/Saitek Exclusive board with a few different modules(Magellan,Senator,MM VI,ETC.) in Mephistos hey day(pre-1994) the Exclusive was not even their premiere board Mephisto made 4 wooden boards: Bavaria(full piece and color recognition) Munchen "S" Munchen Exclusive while i am happy that any dedicated units are still beibg made,they simply are a far cry from the "good ol days" Steve >Regards from England >
