as far as i read it,this board is about COMPUTER CHESS
not only chess programming but all apects of computer chess
for my taste i would much rather see far less discussion about chess progamming
or PC chess in general
personally i would prefer much more discussion on Dedicated chess computers but
i realize i am fighting a losing battle on that idea
however to be honest, reading posts here day in and day out about Fritz v112.333
beating Shredder v235.112 is far less interesting to me then reading about an
outright advert for a dedicated computer
i mean just how many postings can one endure entitlted"Gentlemen start your
Engines"??
actually come to think of it,i dont quite see what the problem is anyway
so there will be a few adverts for commercial chess products
we are all adults, just skip over any posting not appealing to you
do you not read the newspaper because there are ADS in it?
do you not watch tv?
listen to the radio?

now i realize that a commercial company maintains this board and so they would
not want to be in the unusual position of helping a competitor by allowing
others to advertise here..other then that reason i see no problem with it at all
Steve
