I know.  I had a "mirror" of the v19 directory on my dual xeon.  When I went
to the real ftp machine (after I had removed the common .bin files) I discovered
that things were not as they should be.

If you will re-download bookc.bin at least, and probably books.bin, that will
make sure you have the right ones.  You can also grab book.bin but I think that
is the same as it always has been...
