To me it looks like this: Comps play 2800 level - yes - under certain circumstances. Give them wide open positions - they play like a 2800 player. Let them play in a Category 12-14 tournament - and they walk away win the first prize. They are like Supermen with a weakness (kryptonite, which is Anti Computer Chess). Let them play special players like Mr Nemeth, and these comps show some stupidity. I agree partially with the previous post - I can't really consider comps an ideally solid 2800 elo rated player if they can be consistently beaten (ask eduard nementh) or halted to a draw. Can Kasparov be constantly beaten by someone whose rating is much lower than his?
