Thanks again for your patience, Albert.
Problem solved:  the clone maker that I bought this system from didn't
anticipate or care that I'd use MS-DOS, so I finally found a floppy provided
with my Creative CD-ROM that provides for WIN 3.x or MS-DOS.

Computing should never be this cumbersome, however.  I constantly hear computer
science professors correctly complaining about this fact.

Now I just need a mouse driver....

Funny how you can only choose restart and choose SAFE MODE, but not "Restart in
MS=DOS mode...

Now I shall do some performance tests...  Sure would like some data for Celeron,
as a buddy can afford little for his system...
