Since I am not a king and rule by a democracy I have to have a concensus of opinion before making a purchase. You should realize that December have 32 1/2 days in it (counting the holiday New Year's Day). Busting your budget on high priced items is guaranteed to make you broke before your first payday of 2004. What does this has to do with chess? Well if you have to have a delicated chess computer the Excalibur brand (King Arthur, Ivan II, and Igor) will save you a bundle of money and peace of mind. If you need a multi-million games database MasterChess 4000 comes into play other than SCID which you can't own. I think that too you should look for ICD to have stocking stuffers specials starting sometime soon in the near future. I know that I am selling the ChessBase maniacs short as CB 9.0 may be premiered next fall 2004. ChessBase have a few goodies coming for sell as Openings 2004 have been announced on the CB's website as being for sale right now!
