The truth is that neither you nor I nor almost anyone else knows what was in the
minds of the tournament organizers.  Their brains may have been filled with
mixed emotions for all we know.  We could not possibly know what motivated them.
 It's easy to produce a convenient "excuse" after the fact, but had the
complainer not made a stink, none of this would have happened.
