Tord, You are not doing anything wrong. If you feel the need to keep a clear conscience, I would say just include something on your webpage or in the download file that has the shared code. Just slap the random function in a file and say, "I borrowed this from Crafty." Then add it to the zip file and be done with it. Unless the author tells you to remove the borrowed code, I don't see any reason to change anything.
