On the one hand you were joking, Bob, but your joke does point out some serious issues. When I went to school there were mischievous kids who rang up anonymously and said "We've planted a bomb" just to interrupt the lessons for a couple of hours. And now an anonymous informant has claimed that List is a Crafty clone to disrupt the computer chess championships. Even though I understand the posts in other threads saying that the disqualification was Mr. Reul's fault for not complying with the enquiries, that's not the full story. If Fritz had been accused of being a Crafty clone, would Frans Morsch have handed over the source code for examination? It's not a clear-cut case. I have to ask myself what I would have done if it had been my program. I would have turned to Mr. Levy and said "First tell me who made the accusations and why he made them. Then we'll sit round a table and discuss the problem. But if you won't name the anonymous informant, I'll ignore your request". But that's just me, I've always been stubborn.
