I don't know the exact circumstances. Neither do I know, if Jonny used a GUI (which might have displayed, what the engine intended to do correctly or not). Assume the engine showed move x-y 3-fold repetition Now, in the (hypothetical) operator manual for the engine, I read: --- When the engine shows move x-y 3-fold repetition you must not execute the move on the board. Instead, you only must write it on your score sheet, claim a draw, and call the TD. --- Then, the operator executes the move on the board, anyway. Was it an operator error? My understanding of rules of CC events I read before, was, that after an operator error, one should back up the position. Regards, Dieter
