While there is a "tie-break" game tomorrow to decide the winner, in my mind Fritz has already won. Here is my reasoning behind this. Fritz won it's last game, and due to incompetant and irresponsible TD management in the tournament Shredder won it's last game when it should not have. It should have been a draw, plain and simple. There was a bug in Shredder, and the operator of Johnny can not ignore that a 3 fold repetition draw occured. I have seen a program illegally castle due to a bug, and that author was out of luck. If the opposite had occured and Shredder was about to be mated, and Johnny had the bug, I don't believe that Shredder would not have asked to play on. He would have taken his half point and ran. No question. If I was Frans Morsh I would make a serious official complaint and take his rightful place at the top this year. He deserves it. No matter the result of the games tomorrow, Fritz is the rightful 2003 champion.
