Subject: Why was there a playoff?

Sorry but I'm lazy and don't feel like reading the entire forum message list to
find out why there was a playoff between Fritz & Shredder.  The Chessbase
crosstable shows that Fritz had 52.5 vs 52.0 for Shredder in the "tiebreak"
points system so why the playoff?  Maybe someone can give me the answer here.
