It's all about money.  If there is to be a man-machine match which will generate
publicity/money, then we will need a qualifying tournament (only if Fritz is not
the current World Computer Chess Champion).

You recall the qualifying tournament in April of 2001 on Cadaques where Fritz
played Junior.  Shredder boycotted the tournament because it was already the
WCCC and should have automatically played Kramnik.
