Hyatt said that the evaluation is the heart of his engine. Only he can object to use of other parts of his code and he seems silent on this. [Maybe Hyatt has some critical originality in his searching too, but that's unclear.] Non-critical code should not be an issue and it's use should be allowed, IMHO. The worst of it is that we don't know the specifics of the accusations against the List programmer. Maybe he only used non-critical code from Crafty. If that was the case, he was treated unfairly.
