I've read this post and the code mentioned is implemented in the chess-engine.
I've talking about how Xboard outputs the Node count, this is different, right ?
What happens if I define the variable nodes as double instead of long ?

Both Scid and Xboard are affected, Scid stops at 2^32/2 (long) and
Xboard at 2^32 (unsigned long).
