I'd like to get some feedback as to what program 1)plays purely tactical games, where it tries to resolve open or closed positions with purely tactical means. Never mind if it does have little positional understanding; just brute tactical strength. I aim to model my style even further by concentrating on just a singular playing program. I just played in a human open tournament, after having watched tons of games of Virtual Chess 2, and I was filled with confidence that I can duplicate most of Virtual Chess 2's selection of moves. Vchess seems to look for tactical shots in all phases of the game, and it is relentless. And before this Petrosian was my model in playing style. Tough to imitate for me. I finished 5.5/7 and this result I think was in one way or another related to my playing in a style similar to a chess computer. regards,
