Subject: Can typical bios flash programs run from non-floppy dr. in principle? OT

These days many users don't bother with a floppy, so why are bios flash programs
still stuck in this format? Either it's obvious why or one could try unzipping
and pasting all the files necessary for a boot disk onto a CD ROM for example,
and specify that the computer boots off of a cd-rom.

Has anyone tried this? I imagine it wouldn't be too pleasant to get stuck.

Or is the manual, see link above, strictly correct?

I chose this forum as opposed to CTF with the thinking that more people would be
inclined and qualified to answer here, sorry if I am wrong.

I realize that it's trivial to install a floppy drive, etc... just wondering...
