You can use Arena, it's freeware, and from Arena you can run Ruffian, Shredder
7.04, The King 3.23, Crafty, Yace, Delfi, Chinito, Deep Sjeng, Rebel and all
other UCI or WB engines (over 200 engines). Through Arena you can connect
either to ICC or the Free Internet Chess Server (FICS). But in order for your
account to start you'll have to use Blitzin, the exclusive ICC client to log on
for the first time.

You can also use Chess Asssitant 7.1 to connect to ICC. ChessBase programs are
almost exclusively bound to the playchess.com server, with the exception of
Shredder 7.04 which is a UCI engine too.
