It may be useful to review certain cultural facts which may not be known to everybody. Here in the USA, peace is the norm. We know nothing about the rest of the World except when it makes the news. Normally, only extraordinary events make the news. Unfortunately, there has been CONSIDERABLE news coverage of violence in the Middle East, on a daily basis. Much of the violence seems directed at USA citizens and, to a much lesser degree, to citizens of Western Europe. It is no wonder that USA citizens would be reluctant to travel to that region. Let me repeat: Peace is the norm in the USA, in spite of isolated incidents which make the news. There are places in the USA where it is dangerous but that is a rare exception. The vast majority of the USA citizens have never been outside of the USA. They have no way of knowing the truth except by the news media. An exception is the excellent National Geographic Magazine which covers peaceful activities of USA citizens outside the USA. However, even that magazine shows unbelievable violence in non-USA countries, especially in Africa and some of Asia. Recall that the USA recently fought in wars in Korea and Viet Nam and earlier against Japan. The USA citizen has a bad feeling about that. Anyway, Hyatt is not such a bad guy.
