There's a parameter box to check, "Use Tablebases", but something else must be affecting tablebase access... I found a late middlegame/early endgame position which has no tablebase access even if I let it run a very long time (several hours in infinite analysis mode). Then after I make three obvious halfmoves, heavy tablebase access begins immediately. Unless this is a bug(?), some kind of tablebase cutoff variable is presumably involved. Could it be the "Forward Pruning" parameter? I don't see anything else that would affect it, except possible "Threads". I haven't found any explanations of those Shredder704 engine parameters.
