When we started these events, we considered the travel issue carefully. But in recent years, it has been forgotten. Just "come here spend your money, make the hotels and restaurants happy, etc." And so what if you miss a couple of weeks of classes. We do that all the time over here, surely you can miss a _few_ over there. I don't feel quite so lax about it...
