My engine (using malloc) has the same problem, as noted by Franz: Only >works for sizes > 256 MB under Win NT/XP. > >Regards, >Dieter hi dieter, if your engine is for windows only, you should switch to the windows memory allocation functions, as there you know exactly what the OS is doing. if you use anything like new or malloc, the compiler will translate that to whatever it sees fit, and then it will work on some versions of windows, and not on others. i've had so many problems with different versions of windows doing different things, that i try not to "let windows decide". of course you can call this microsoft brain damage :-) cheers martin
