I think you miss an important point here. I bought the thouch chess device from Excalibur when it got out one and a half years ago and can still play a game with it with the original nonchargeable battery inside. It just work, no need to think if there is any power left on the device. The graphics can't compare with a PocketPC (I have Pocket GrandMaster) but it is good enough to play a game with it and what more to demand. Odd Gunnar
