This may not be your problem but if you have the latest video drivers on your
system, perhaps they were affected by the CM6000 installation.

"I have a machine with a Matrox Millenium that used to have the same
problem, as soon as you would launch CM5K and DirectX would start
"version checking" it would replace the video driver and hose
everything else.  The solution is to NOT reinstall your video drivers
but rather go to display properties/change display type/change adapter
and select the driver you used to have, so if your original was Matrox
Millenium Powerdesk PCI and DirectX installed Matrox Millenium PCI
then you just select what you had before CM5K and DirectX overwrote
it. Afterwards when you load the game DirectX will version check but
not replace the video driver and everything (including CM5K) will work
fine."

Perhaps CM6000 is doing the same thing.
