This is a point, but less of a point than it could have been. That the PalmOS
connection to the PC is designed so that, to synchronise, it is _forced_ to be
charged as well was a stroke of genius - one of many - by the original
designers.

(I suggest that a charger which did nothing else would have led to the battery
running down much more often).
