That is one of the defining characterstics of Opteron (much like only Xeon is SMP in Intel-land). The Opteron 248 is your SMP-capable FX-51. Also, I don't hold much hope of anyone "unlocking" an FX-51 from what I understand of how SMP capability is enforced in the chips.
