I appreciate all the technical virtuosity (wizardy) and technical implications
affecting so many aspects. But after all is said and done, is 2.2Ghz.64, an
all-round speed-up  (even for the least co-operative chess program) over 3.2Ghz
with 32?
 If not, what is?
Thanks for all these answers, and I'm sure many lesser experts would like to
benefit from the educated estimations of the greater experts.
