Are you really saying that to Bob?  Words simply fail me there.

Are you saying a FICS server would not have awarded Shredder a draw instead of a
win?  That would be a difference and not little, yes?

Two (or three, or combination) rounds per day, all handled robotically,
shortening the event.  That makes a difference to the cost for a participant, as
well as whether or not they can even attend in the first place, since many
cannot get that much time off.

That's two big differences already.

I must confess that I'm at a loss for words in responding to some of this.  The
mind boggles.

Or perhaps it is the season to "wind-up the Americans and watch 'em go".
