At least I've noticed that Junior sometimes plays the classic bishop sacrifice on h7/h2 even when there is no clear win, and Gothmog usually wants to sac in the same positions. It is nowhere near as strong as Junior, though. >If you can do it I shall be grateful to you! >I am volunteer to test your engine It's a free download from http://www.math.uio.no/~romstad/gothmog/gothmog.html Feel free to download it and give it a try. You may want to wait, though, because there will almost certainly be a new version some time before the end of the year. I should add that there is still a long way to go before the style is as interesting as I want it to be. It often plays boring or ugly games. What I described in my previous posting was my long-term goals with the development of my engine, not its current status. >will it be able to make a speculative sacrifice of piece in the opening? >junior7 does it!! It happens, like in the position we were discussing in the current thread. Tord
