Lately, I have been trying understand how p-chess(5.1) with it's three Hex opening book files influence it's decision to make a move when you are playing it with an unknown opening. It seems to load an opening only to 12 half moves from one of it's files. What do the other two files do????? It also seems to choose a move just as slow on an xt as it does on a 133mz machine. It's so old--how do I get a registered copy? Is the registered copy also the same way? I know there are quite a few other better supposed AI programs--What Are they-- Where are they?? Do they have source code available?
