But in driving home from work, I finally remembered the move that was always suggested as better than 9. a3. 9. Qe4, which prevents the fork at c2. It does give black time for c6 however. So perhaps we should visit that later also, that was the line I generally played as white. Now threatening d4, or f4, or O-O.
