I also had no luck entering as a guest. I tried for several months, and it
wouldn't work. Then I discovered by accident that you must join and become a
member first. Then login as a member and enter your product's code number from
the front page of the manual.
That's not necessary if you just want to download the latest update:
http://www.playchess.com/updates/GUI8.iup
Put it in your chessprogram8 folder and run iupgrade.exe
