Ruffian scored on this system vs. Hiarcs 8.0 with over 70% after 40 games. Differences: Ruffian 1.0.1 to 1.0.5 ~ 20-30 ELO Ruffian 1.0.5 to 23.06 test version ~ 40 ELO (absolutly not sure, not enough games) Ruffian 23.06 to 10.10 Leiden version ~ 40-60 ELO (not sure) Ruffian 10.10 to 2.0.0 ~ I believe ~ 20 ELO This are min. 120 ELO more power! But to say Ruffian 2.0.0 is 120 ELO stronger as Ruffian 1.0.5 is not a good message because the most reades will not know it. You can be sure that Ruffian is around min. 80 to max. 100 ELO stronger as Ruffian 1.0.5. The Ruffian 1.0.5 version is 1 year and 2 months old. We release this version with Arena Setup files as little update last months. Ruffian 2.0.0 is the latest version by Per-Ola Valfridsson (programmer of Ruffian). After my results (40 moves in 10 minutes) it's clear that Ruffian is on of the strongest programs in the World but I have not played many games vs. ChessBase engines. I like amateur engines and Arena Chess GUI because I have more possibilities for engine-engine matches (Arena is compatible without any adpater / converter to more as 200 engines). Please read the text by Per-Ola under additional information (info site with two pages): http://www.playwitharena.com/directory/ruffian2.htm Best regards Frank
