I know what you mean I've sometimes wanted that to. It would require quite some
work to do that but of course it is possible. I don't think I'll do it for the
perft(11) project, but if perft(12) is started it will have some progress
indication.

I use this:
During the days when I use the computer the perft client is set to use little
memory, during night it get all memory.
