That is pretty run of the mill as far as top engines go. I think it's a rather ordinary result. Even my weak, slow and buggy Gothmog gets a similar score. My latest version gets 297/300 in 5 seconds on a 2.4 GHz computer. Most of the positions are solved in less than 0.01 seconds. WAC is simply too easy on modern hardware, you need to run some harder test suites if you want to make conclusions about an engine's tactical abilities. ECMGCP is a much better choice than WAC, I think. I would be very interested in what results you get for Crafty at 10 seconds/position in ECMGCP. It's impressive that Crafty is able to solve WAC100 and WAC230, though. Tord
